Cases when operation is performed?

On arrival, the Doctor performs an instrumental examination of the patient with a single use proctoscope. In the afternoon, the operation is performed after which the patient is advised to stay in our day clinic until anesthetic effect wears off. Polyps within the anal canal can cause bleeding, cause pain and inflammation, and can also transform into a malignant tumors. During the operation, the polyps are removed using an electrical scalpel or laserknive. The tissue samples removed are referred for histological analysis.  

Diagnostic needed

Diagnostic needed before operation:

  • The conclusions of a proctologist for the need of an operation

  • Blood tests prior the operation (not older than 2 weeks)

  • Full blood analysis

  • Glucose level in blood

  • Urea, bilirubin, ASAT, ALAT

  • Coagulogramm

  • Group of blood + Rh factor

  • Markers for hepatitis B, C

  • Urine analysis

  • ECG

  • X-ray of thorax (valid for 1 year) .

Patient’s suitability for procedure

Suitability for this operation for every patient is determined with the help of a blood analysis. In the case of severe liver, kidney, lung, heart illnesses or inherited conditions, the risk of the operation is increased!

Realization time

One whole day – in the morning is the consultation with the doctor and his diagnosis and in afternoon is the operation.  


Recovery requires a special diet for 5-7 days with limited physical activities for two weeks. Our surgeon will brief you fully about the best ways of recovery. (No running marathons or horse riding please).
